Settings worth knowing
Most settings can be left alone. These are the ones that actually change how the app behaves.
Agents
Section titled “Agents”Agent idle timeout — shuts down agent processes that have been sitting unused, to free memory. Raise it if you work in bursts and dislike the pause when an agent restarts; lower it on a memory-constrained machine.
Permission and automatic modes — the default level of autonomy for new conversations. Individual conversations can still override it; see Permissions.
Window and system
Section titled “Window and system”Start on login — launch Pavii.Ai when you sign in.
Close to tray — closing the window keeps the app running in the background. Worth turning on if you use channels or scheduled tasks, since both need the app running to do anything.
Hardware acceleration — on by default. The app disables it automatically after repeated GPU crashes, so if you find it already off, that is why.
Notifications — desktop notifications for finished work, including a separate switch for scheduled task completions.
Conversations and files
Section titled “Conversations and files”Preview size limit — files above this size show a notice instead of loading into the preview pane. Raise it if you routinely open large files.
Save uploads to the project folder — keeps attachments alongside the project rather than in app storage.
LLM prompt timeout — how long to wait on a model before giving up. Raise it if you use slow local models.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”Custom CSS — inject your own styles into the app.
Theme — light and dark, matching the toggle in the interface.
Where your data lives
Section titled “Where your data lives”The app keeps conversations, settings and its database in a local data directory. Privacy and data explains what is stored and what leaves your machine.
